Gay Gobbler by Jessie Tait for Midwinter - possibly the best china pattern name ever!

A stunning and rare Midwinter Fashion Shape square serving plate in this quirky colourful turkey pattern created in 1955 by British ceramics design icon Jessie Tait, named in much more innocent times!

The plate is the classic Fashion Shape rounded-square "TV screen" shape, with the design outline transfer printed in black, and the coloured decor hand-applied in bright tones of maroon, ochre and green.

Diagonal at widest point: 11.7" / 29.5cm
Horizontal & vertical: 10.8" / 27.5cm

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. Glaze and colours bright and glossy. Colourful pictorial Midwinter backstamp.

British made vintage item from Staffordshire.
