Midwinter Toadstool Pattern Fashion Shape Teacup Trio of Cup, Saucer and Teaplate
Designed by British ceramics icon Jessie Tait in 1956
Now rare and highly sought after by collectors, the jaunty cartoon-style toadstools in bright primary shades are a perennially popular cult classic.
The trio is sold as a set of 3 pieces, comprising:
16cm/6.25” tea plate
14.75cm/5.75” tea saucer
9.8cm/3.875” diameter, 6cm/2.375” tall tea cup
All in perfect condition, no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. There is a very slight line in the red toadstool pattern on the cup from the transfer placement during manufacture, but this is hardly noticeable, just mentioned for complete accuracy.
If you are matching a set, please be sure to check the size of your existing cups, as Midwinter manufactured several sizes of cup in this pattern - this is the wide teacup. Also check the pattern colour and placement, as different sets were made with different toadstool transfers applied in different places. This cup has the red toadstool displayed when its handle is to the right.
