Super-rare Midwinter Pottery 'September Song' serving platter in beautiful bold retro floral pattern in Autumnal shades of orange, yellow, red and brown.
A very hard to find pattern on this shape, September Song was designed in 1967 by British ceramics design icon Jessie Tait, and epitomises the retro 60s flower power look. This generous rounded rectangular platter has a repeating transfer border pattern. Backstamped Midwinter Fashion Shape 9-68.
Dimensions 35 x 28cm.
Very good vintage condition - no cracks, chips or crazing. Glaze and pattern are still shiny & bright. There are very faint cutlery marks to the centre surface, and some fine scratches to the pattern on close inspection. There is some shelfwear and marking to the reverse, see photos.
British-made vintage item, manufactured in Staffordshire.
