Stunning 1960s Broadhurst small side plate in the cheerful Calypso pattern, by iconic British ceramics designer Kathie Winkle.
A black-on-white transfer printed design of bold tropical florals is hand-coloured under the final glaze in shades of mustard, ochre and brown.
This design was launched in 1963, on the "Delta" shape, marketed as part of the 'Copperfield Range' of patterns featuring warm earth-toned colours.
6.625" (16.5cm) side plate, one available.
Good vintage condition - no chips, cracks or repairs, but it does have very fine crazing to the glaze throughout, consistent with age. Kathie Winkle Broadhurst backstamp to reverse.
British made vintage item from Staffordshire.
