A selection of stunning mustard J&G Meakin dinner and tea service pieces in the striking 1971 Castile pattern from the Maidstone range on the Studio 2 shape. Such a stylish, sunny set!
Saucers, bowls and plates have a vibrant symmetrical scroll pattern of mustard on a pale fine oatmeal background, reminiscent of Spanish tiles, with Meakin Maidstone backstamp. Cups, creamer, sugar bowl and coffee pot body are plain mustard throughout with a very fine speckle, with plain pale oatmeal lid to the coffee pot. The glaze is rich and smooth, but in common with other patterns in the Maidstone range is matte in appearance, in contrast to most other patterns on the Studio 2 shape which are shiny-glazed. This gives this range a more rustic, earthy, 70s look.

All pieces in excellent vintage condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. As these pieces are over 40 years old, there may be light cutlery marks in places, but nothing that would detract from its beauty or function. As with all vintage tableware, I recommend handwashing in mild detergent.
