Delicately beautiful Murano handmade smaller genie bottle decanter in red, purple and clear glass, with vertical striped design using the ‘a canne’ method. It has a tiny red cased in clear glass flame-shaped stopper. The bottle's graceful shape is smoothly ribbed to the touch, and very finely made. Reminiscent of the work of studio Fratelli Toso, though possibly simpler and less fussy.
These fine small bottles were commonly bought as gifts and tourist trinkets by visitors to Venice in the 1950s.
Looks beautiful displayed alone, in groups with other bottles, or with mixed displays of coloured glass - see photos.
