Hornsea Tapestry coffee cup and saucer duos, available for individual sale. This highly sought after pattern has a homespun look, reminiscent of Welsh wool pieces.
Manufactured by Hornsea Pottery from 1973-1984, the Tapestry pattern features a floral repeating outline motif in olive green and cobalt blue in the style of tapestry embroidery, edged in diamond checkers, over a pale blue background. The coffee cups have an all over design with plain mid-blue interior, and the saucers are plain pale blue with a mid-blue rim. The design is stamped onto the cups and has a pleasing smoothly textured feel to the touch.

Coffee cups measure 7.5cm/3” in height, and 6cm/2.375” in diameter at the rim.
Saucers measure 13cm/5.125” in diameter.
Each piece bears the Hornsea backstamp to its underside.
All in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are some lines of very fine crazing and a tiny age mark on a couple of pieces, commensurate with age, see photo 10.
