9.5" / 24cm dinner plates in the Riviera shape, in excellent condition, transfer printed by a semi-automated rubber stamping process with a black outline design, and then handpainted orange and brown accents added. The Versailles pattern was launched c1970*
Kathie Winkle was a prolific ceramics designer who worked for Broadhurst from 1950 until she retired in 1992. Her designs are synonymous with 1960s and 70s British home life, are much loved throughout the world and are currently enjoying a renaissance in popularity.
Vintage items made in Staffordshire, England. Each plate bears the Broadhurst Kathie Winkle backstamp.
