Kathie Winkle Autumn Glen Pattern 12" Oval Serving Platter for Broadhurst Pottery - bold 1970s abstract floral design in brown and beige.
12" oval plate in excellent condition, transfer printed by a semi-automated rubber stamping process with a brown outline design, and then handpainted brown and beige accents added. These designs had a 'homespun' appearance, and often varied from plate to plate with placement of motifs and positioning of the coloured accents. The Autumn Glen pattern was launched c1975*
Kathie Winkle was a prolific ceramics designer who worked for Broadhurst from 1950 until she retired in 1992. Her designs are synonymous with 1960s and 70s British home life, are much loved throughout the world and are currently enjoying a renaissance in popularity.
Vintage item made in Staffordshire, England. Each plate bears the Broadhurst Kathie Winkle backstamp.
